I may be hitting a bit of a wall with this process, but the fact I am writing this means I am able to push through a little (for now, at least).
I’m also worried that I am focusing too much on Steam Thieves. I might be using chipping away at a massive project as an excuse to not be chipping away at a small one that could be completed rather quickly (Goodnight Maus).
I need to commit to adding something to Goodnight Maus for next week’s dispatch… And I shall!
Despite my concerns that Steam Thieves is straddling the line between being an actual project and a procrastination project, it is pretty satisfying to see how much of it there is now…
Here’s the link to the Ashcan, by the way (link).
Anyways, onto the progress I’ve made on Steam Thieves.
I am not fully in the weeds on the Actions, having to describe and define them within the context of my game. This part of the process feels meatier than a lot of what I’ve done thus far (with has largely been superficial tweaks).
Here’s my part of my section on Actions:
When you Command, you compel others to act through displaying logic, authority or power.
You might inspire a crowd to turn on a corrupt copper. You might lead your crew in a group action. You could try to persuade a lieutenant from the Potter Gang to cancel a debt (but Consorting might be better).
When you Consort, you socialize with friends and contacts.
You might gain access to resources, information, people, or places. You might make a good impression or win someone over with your charm and style. You could try to manipulate your contact with social pressure (but Sway might be better).
